Minister Of PUPR: Cipanas Dam Construction Progress Reaches 83 Percent
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) revealed that the progress of the construction of the Cipanas Dam in Sumedang Regency, West Java has reached 83 percent. PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono in his statement in Jakarta on Friday April 15, said that the management of water resources and irrigation will continue continued to support food security. "The dam and irrigation network were built at great expense. Therefore, make sure the quality of the work is good so that it can be utilized optimally to irrigate the farmers' rice fields," said Minister Basuki. The PUPR Ministry is accelerating the completion of the Cipanas Dam construction in Sumedang Regency, West Java. The dam is expected to support water needs for agricultural irrigation in Sumedang and Indramayu regencies covering an area of 9,273 hectares (ha). Head of the Cimanuk-Cisanggarung River Basin Center (BBWS) Ministry of PUPR Ismail Widadi said the Cipanas Dam is one of the National Strategic Projects (PSN) which was built since 2017 with a capacity of 250.81 million cubic meters. the rest of the land that is not yet free is in inundation areas and access roads," said Ismail. This dam is a type of erect core rock fill equipped with a 452 meter long evasive tunnel. The water source comes from the Cipanas River, which is part of the Cimanuk - Cisanggarung River Area with a required land area of 1,605 hectares. The dam with a total inundation area of 1,315 hectares can also be used as a flood control water reservoir for the Indramayu and surrounding areas because it is able to reduce flood discharge by 487.75 cubic meters / second and has potential for tourism. The construction of the Cipanas Dam was carried out in three stages. construction package. The first package was carried out by PT Wijaya Karya - PT Jaya Konstruksi KSO which focused on the construction of the dam body with a contract value of IDR 923 billion. Meanwhile, package 2 was carried out by PT Brantas Abipraya (Persero) for the construction of supporting infrastructure with a contract value of IDR 425 billion. While package 3 is done by PT. Wijaya Karya - PT. Jaya Construction KSO for the elevation of the dam body with a contract value of Rp490 billion.
