Want To Promote Anies Candidate, PPP DKI: He Can Be The Meeting Point Of Ahok's Mental Revolution And Rizieq's Moral Revolution
JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta United Development Party (PPP) Regional Representative Council (DPW) recommended to the PPP Central Executive Board (DPP) to nominate DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan and East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa as presidential and vice presidential candidates in the 2024 election.
"The DKI Jakarta PPP DPW recommends the PPP DPP to nominate Brother Anies Rasyid Baswedan as the RI presidential candidate and to nominate Ms. Khofifah Indar as the RI vice presidential candidate in the 2024 election," said Acting (Plt) Head of DKI PPP DPW Farhan Hasan Al-Amri in Jakarta. Jakarta, Thursday, April 14.
Farhan explained the reason why the DKI PPP DPW wanted his party to carry Anies as a presidential candidate for the 2024 election. Farhan assessed that Anies was able to erase the polarization caused by the 2017 Pilkada in DKI Jakarta after he served as DKI Governor.
"At the center of the polarization (Jakarta), Anies succeeded in eliminating or significantly reducing the hostility and polarization that occurred in DKI, which resulted in DKI residents being more willing to build DKI Jakarta together," said Farhan.
In fact, Farhan views Anies as being able to unite the slogans "Mental Revolution" initiated by President Jokowi and "Akhlak Revolution" echoed by Muhammad Rizieq Shihab.
Given that Anies was Minister of Education and Culture when Jokowi served as President of the Republic of Indonesia in 2014 and Anies was politically supported by Rizieq.
"What is also interesting about Anies, I think that in the midst of this polarization, everyone knows that Mr. President Jokowi with the jargon 'Mental Revolution' and on the other hand there is Habib Rizieq with 'Akhlak Revolution'. PPP DKI sees Anies Baswedan, God willing, can be a point meeting 'Mental Revolution' and 'Akhlak Revolution'," he explained.
Meanwhile, regarding Khofifah, Farhan assessed that the East Java governor deserved to be a vice presidential candidate because he came from a Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) figure who was close to the ulama.
"Ms. Khofifah herself is also the Chairperson of the Muslimat Nahdatul Ulama and of course the closeness of Ms. Khofifah to the scholars and the habibs is extraordinary. That's what makes all of my friends very confident to nominate Ms. Khofifah to be vice president," he added.
