Patrice Evra's Debut In The Boxing Ring Is Postponed After The World's Scariest Human Duel Vs Iran's Hulk Is Canceled
JAKARTA - Patrice Evra's boxing debut was postponed after the fight between the World's Scariest Man vs Iran's Hulk was cancelled.
Daily Star Sport exclusively revealed earlier this year that the former Manchester United defender will headline the undercard of the event at the O2 Arena in London on April 30.
Evra, 40, later confirmed that she would face YouTuber Adam Saleh.
However, the World's Scariest Man - real name Martyn Ford - revealed last week that his heavyweight fight against Iran's Sajad Gharibi was cancelled.
And now the promoters have made the decision to postpone the entire event.
An Instagram post on Sunday, April 10 read: "Boxstar, regrettably postponed the event planned for April 30. The announcement comes after the main fight was canceled earlier this week.
"Losing such a huge main event (in every sense of the word) has been a blow to the event and to the fans. Because of this, instead of pushing forward with April 30th, we have instead made the difficult decision to postpone the event.
"Anyone who has purchased tickets for the April 30 show is entitled to a full refund."
No announcements have been made on the new date for the Evra boxing match.
The Frenchman has chosen America's Saleh as his opponent, so may choose to wait until they can get into the ring together.
Evra has been training hard in recent months as he prepares to return to sport after retiring from football in 2019.
Former Spurs midfielder Jamie O'Hara has also agreed to battle the undercards and will face Katie Price's ex-boyfriend Kris Boyson before this postponement.
