Vice President Ma'ruf Amin Hands Over Social Assistance For Communities In Aceh

JAKARTA - Vice President Ma'ruf Amin handed over social assistance (bansos) to communities in need symbolically at the Darussa'adah Social Rehabilitation Workshop for Children Needing Special Protection (LRSAMPK), in Aceh Besar District.

The Vice President conveyed that the provision of assistance was part of an effort to ease the burden on people affected by price fluctuations, due to the global economic situation and climate change.

"Everyone is affected throughout the world, including us, Indonesia. Therefore, the government has a role to play, to increase efforts that we call social protection for the underprivileged," said the Vice President, quoted by Antara, Thursday, April 14.

Ma'ruf Amin said that before Eid al-Fitr, the price of goods, especially basic needs, usually also increases. The assistance provided is also an effort to anticipate the government in controlling prices in the community, especially before Lebaran.

"That's what the government is doing while controlling the situation so that the impact is not too big," he said.

Based on the information received, the assistance provided by the Vice President included Direct Cash Assistance (BLT) for Cooking Oil, Family Hope Program Assistance (PKH), Non-Cash Food Assistance (BPNT), and Social Rehabilitation Assistance Assistance (ATENSI), all of which were Ministry of Social Affairs program.

The vice president also handed over social assistance for Banda Aceh City and Aceh Besar District.
