Starting Friday, TransJakarta Will Close 11 Bus Stops For Revitalization
JAKARTA - PT Transport Jakarta (TransJakarta) will close 11 bus stops as part of its revitalization work to increase capacity and public transportation services, especially in DKI Jakarta.
Director of Engineering and Digital TransJakarta M. Indrayana said this year there were 46 shelters that were being revitalized in stages.
"Starting Friday April 15, 2022, we will start closing. Of the two shelters that are currently closed, we will add nine more shelters which we will close regarding the implementation of this work," said Indrayana, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, April 13.
Indrayana explained that the two shelters that were closed first were the City Hall Bus Stop and the Kwitang Bus Stop.
Meanwhile, the other nine stops, namely
1. Dukuh Atas 1 stop;
2. Tosari bus stop;
3. Juanda bus stop;
4. Cawang Cikoko Bus Stop;
5. HI Roundabout Stop;
6. Sarinah bus stop;
7. Kebon Pala stop;
8. Gelora Bung Karno bus stop;
9. Jatinegara Station 2. Stop.
There is also work on this revitalization takes 6 months. Meanwhile, TransJakarta service users will be diverted to use shuttle buses, especially in corridor 1 Blok M--Kota.
According to Indrayana, the revitalization work is part of the transformation of public transportation in Jakarta with various concepts.
First, this revitalization realizes integration that will connect with other modes, such as KRL, LRT and MRT.
"Integration is the key to the success of Jakarta's public transportation. We are improving the infrastructure in the concept of infrastructure, namely bus stops," he said.
Then, the revitalization of the bus stops also aims to improve services to the coverage of TransJakarta customers who reach 85 percent of the citizens of the capital city.
Over the next three years, TransJakarta will revitalize many shelters in addition to expanding, as well as facilitating access to and from bus stops, as well as preparing areas for commercial use.
