Not Only Pertalite, The Minister Of Energy And Mineral Resources Also Gives A Signal To Increase Electricity Tariffs
JAKARTA - Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Arifin Tasrif gave a signal that he would increase the price of the basic electricity tariff. He conveyed this when explaining the short-term plan of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources to Commission VII DPR RI, Wednesday, April 13.
He said the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources plans to implement a tariff adjustment in 2022 to save compensation of Rp. 7 to Rp. 16 trillion.
"Adjusting or reducing the use of fuel and pressure from the state budget in the electricity sector, in the short term, the plan to implement a tariff adjustment in 2022 is to save compensation of Rp. 7-Rp 16 trillion," he said.
Not only that, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources will also implement efficiency in the basic costs of electricity supply and the primary energy strategy from PLN. PLN will also optimize power plants with domestic source fuel from PLTU and PLT EBT.
"There will be an acceleration of the construction of 450 MW Rooftop PLTS in 2022. Also, the construction of EBT plants from the APBN include Rooftop PLTS, PLTMA, Apdal and others," he said.
Meanwhile, for the medium and long term plans, Arifin said that he would match and sort the beneficiary customer data based on DTKS to provide direct subsidies to target households.
"Furthermore, the reduction of fuel generation to PLT Gas by 598 MW and PLT EBT by 500 MW in 2025 and connection to the network of 1070 MW," he said.
Previously, Arifin also gave a signal to increase the price of subsidized fuel according to the economic level. Thus, if the price of world crude oil rises, the price of non-subsidized fuel and Pertalite will automatically increase as well.
"As well as adjusting the price of non-subsidized fuel according to the economy whose market is for the upper middle class, adjusting the price of pertalite, diesel oil, and accelerating substitute fuels," said Arifin.
He added that his party will also try to maintain fuel stocks in the long term and short term amid the spike in world crude oil prices. In the short term, the government will ensure that stocks during Ramadan and Eid are available to the public.
