Coinbase Makes Film “The Degen Trilogy” That Will Show NFT Apes Bored Ape Yacht Club

JAKARTA – Crypto exchange from the United States, Coinbase is rumored to be producing a film that will feature the popular NFT depicting an ape, namely the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC). According to reports, the film is titled The Degen Trilogy.

The film will be produced by Coinbase Entertainment. Later, the film will feature NFT BAYC monkey characters selected from the NFT Bored Ape Yacht Club community.

Reporting from Bitcoin.com News, On April 11 Coinbase announced plans to release a trilogy of films dedicated to the NFT Bored Ape Yacht Club collection. A report from one37pm.com indicates that the crypto trading platform is “celebrating and strengthening the BAYC community” through a trilogy of films.

Coinbase confirmed the films on Twitter after posting a tweet saying something was coming. A few hours later, Coinbase tweeted again and said:

"Must be something. We created an interactive three-part film featuring the [Bored Ape Yacht Club] & Apecoin communities. Come join us [at] degentrilogy.com.”

The one37pm.com announcement written by Charlie Kolbrener explains that Bored Ape owners can submit their NFT Bored Ape to the web portal degentrilogy.com and if selected, Bored Apes will be featured in a three-part film adventure that also features the ApeCoin (APE) project.

“At Coinbase, we are dedicated to creating and supporting content projects that speak directly to our community and sustain a Web3 culture of innovation,” Coinbase Entertainment and director of cultural marketing William Swann said in a statement regarding the plan.

“As we aim to bring the next billion people into the crypto economy, we firmly believe that this interactive film series will act as a catalyst to serve that mission and help audiences understand the collaborative nature of Web3. We have been inspired by the Bored Ape Yacht Club community and [we are] excited to invite them to make this film with us,” said Swann.

Meanwhile, Yuga Labs CEO Nicole Muniz stated that the film was a breakthrough for NFT. For information, Yuga Labs is the developer of the BAYC monkey NFT project.

“We saw how NFT evolved into a vehicle for access and participation in networking, gaming, merchandising, and now interactive entertainment,” Muniz explained during the announcement, April 10.

“This is a groundbreaking project and we are excited to see how it shapes the future of Web3 for all communities,” Muniz concluded.
