Ministry Of Transportation Ensures All Ships Are Ready For Eid Transport
JAKARTA - The Directorate General of Sea Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation has ensured that the entire fleet of ships is in a seaworthy condition for Lebaran sea transportation in 1443H/2022 so as to create safe and healthy homecoming for the community.
"We have instructed all Technical Implementing Units or UPT throughout Indonesia to carry out ship-worthiness tests on all ships operating in their working areas," said Plt. In order to support the implementation of Lebaran Sea Transportation Year 1443 H/2022, the heads of UPT within the Directorate General of Sea Transportation, passenger terminals, ship operators, were ordered to carry out several important things.
Among other things, establishing a Sea Transportation service post for Lebaran in 2022 (1443 H) according to the Director General's Instruction No: IR-DGT /2/2022 in each work area by involving relevant agencies and stakeholders at the port and reporting daily progress to the Command Post Office. "In addition, we must also ensure that all passengers, officers both at the port and on the ship apply the 3M health protocol, namely wearing masks, washing hands, maintaining distance and avoiding crowds. Also ensure that all passengers and officers have checked body temperature at the port and on the ship," said Mugen.
Then, the UPTs are requested that all facilities at the port and on the ship have been cleaned and disinfected regularly by the responsible agency or operator, as well as increasing supervision of shipping safety and security as well as coordinating with relevant agencies and stakeholders.
This includes the local BMKG to disseminate weather forecasts from the BMKG to the maritime community to be aware of bad weather.
Another important thing that must be prepared is optimizing the potential of the fleet in their respective regions, especially the sections with the highest number of passengers on the homecoming/return flow so as to reduce the accumulation of passengers.
"Meanwhile, shipping companies are required to update/update the latest information on the arrival/departure schedule of ships either at the port or through social media," he said.
For information, during the Lebaran Sea Transportation period of 1443H/2022, according to a survey by the Research and Development Agency of the Ministry of Transportation, the prediction of people traveling using sea transportation is 1,400,000 passengers, an increase of 234 percent from 2021.
