There Is A Suspicion That A Family Was Burned To Death In Warakas Because It Was Locked From The Outside By The Victim's Child, The Police Explained The Facts

JAKARTA - There is speculation about a fire that killed five people in a family on Jalan Warakas, Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta, early Tuesday, April 12. In this incident, it is suspected that the victims had difficulty opening the rolling door because it was locked from the outside.

In line with this situation, it was alleged that one of the children of a family member who was not at home that night had locked the door of the shophouse from the outside.

Responding to this, the Head of the Tanjung Priok Police, Kompol Ricky Prenata Vivaldy ensured that the rolling door was not locked from outside. This is based on the testimony of several witnesses at the scene.

Ricky added that when his first child, BJS (initials), left the house (ruko) because he was playing futsal, at the same time as his younger brother's return. At that time, Ricky said, the rolling door was locked by his younger brother.

"It's not (locked from the outside), so when the first child (BJS) came out, his younger brother went inside so it was locked from the inside," explained Ricky when contacted by VOI, Tuesday, April 12.

"So it's locked from the inside, so it's not locked from the outside or anything," he continued.

Ricky explained that each member of the family holds the key to their own rolling door. However, because at the time the fire had spread, the victims panicked, making it difficult to find the key to the rolling door.

"So they each have their own key. When there is smoke, the key can't be found," explained Ricky.
