South Barito Regency Government Repairs Collapsed Ceiling At Pendang Harbor
BUNTOK - The Government of South Barito Regency, Central Kalimantan, through the Department of Transportation will repair the collapse of a building above the pontoon of Pendang Harbor, Dusun Utara District on the Barito River due to heavy rains and strong winds.
"For the time being, we will repair the Pendang Port so that it can be operational again," said Head of the South Barito Transportation Service, Daud Danda, as quoted by Antara, Tuesday, April 12.
His party will coordinate with the Central Kalimantan Provincial Government, because according to the promise of the Central Kalimantan Transportation Service some time ago, in 2023 all port UPTDs in South Barito will be rehabilitated or repaired.
"The port in South Barito is planned to be rehabilitated by the provincial Dishub, because if it is built, there must be detailed data (DD) or a feasibility study, while all ports in this area do not yet have a feasibility study," he said.
According to him, that is the obstacle, so that ports in the local area cannot receive large funding assistance for their construction from the central government as in other districts.
"Nevertheless, since I became Head of the Transportation Service for the first time, I have submitted a proposal so that the ports in South Barito can be rehabilitated," he said.
Because, like the Pendang Port pontoon, it has not been repaired for a long time since it was built using assistance from the district government in 2014.
In addition, his party will continue to strive to carry out a feasibility study, so that in the future it can get more funds so that it can be built better permanently.
"Because these ports are very much needed by the community, especially those on the banks of the Barito Watershed (DAS)," explained Daud Danda.
