Jokowi Signs New Presidential Decree, Dankor Brimob Is Carried Out By A Three-Star General
JAKARTA - The commander of the Brimob Corps (Dankor Brimob) is now a three-star general from the previous two-star general. The new rules are contained in Presidential Regulation (Perpres) Number 54 of 2022 signed by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) on April 7, 2022.
In the attachment to the presidential regulation, the position of Dankor Brimob is filled with Commissioner General (Komjen) or three stars and echelon 1A ranks.

Dankor Brimob is assisted by Deputy Dankor Brimob, which is abbreviated as Wadankor Brimob. The Dankor Brimob is responsible to the Indonesian National Police Chief (Kapolri).
Furthermore, in paragraph (5) of Article 22, which is amended, Korbrimob consists of 1 Bureau and a maximum of 5 troops.
Article 54 of Presidential Decree 54/2022 also states that the Deputy Chief of Police, Irwasum, Kabaintelkam, Kabaharkam, Kabareskrim, Kalemdiklat, Dankor Brimob, Asops, Asrena, As HR, and Aslog are echelon IA positions.
In addition, in the attachment section of Presidential Decree 54/2022, it is written that the Deputy Dankor Brimob is an Inspector General/Pati Bintang 2 with the rank of echelon 1B.

The challenges and tasks that are getting heavier and more complex have made the need for restructuring within the Brimob Corps.
