It should be noted earlier that SA was hospitalized for attempting to commit suicide by slashing his left hand with a knife. He took the action after SA killed his wife and child in his home in the Kragilan area, Serang district, in the early hours of Friday, April 8.
The Head of Public Relations of the Banten Police, Kombes Pol. Shinto Silitonga, said that his party had taken the perpetrator to the Serang Police detention house on Monday, April 11 at around 17.00 WIB.
"Investigators have requested initial information from SA with the status of a suspect, the initial examination for about 1 hour has not run optimally because the suspect's psychological condition is not normal so the examination is temporarily suspended," Shinto said in a written statement received, Tuesday, April 12.
Shinto said that today, according to the schedule, investigators facilitated a psychiatrist from the Banten Police's HR Bureau to carry out psychological therapy for the suspect.
"In accordance with the suspect's rights in the criminal procedural law, investigators have requested assistance from legal counsel appointed from the office of Lawyer Sri Murtini, SH to accompany the suspect in the investigation process to prosecution and trial," said Shinto Silitonga.
Meanwhile, the police had previously conducted an examination of IH (15), the victim's sister who managed to escape during the incident. IH's examination went well, and he was able to explain well the chronology of the events. However, it has not been able to describe the motive for the murder.
"Investigators made the allegations in accordance with Article 44 paragraph (3) of Law No. 23 of 2004 concerning the Elimination of Domestic Violence (PKDRT) with a penalty of 15 years in prison or a fine of Rp. 45 million overlaid with Article 338 of the Criminal Code regarding murder," explained Shinto.
