PLN Turns On The Power Against The Impacted Bajir In Ambon
JAKARTA - PLN has returned to turn on the electricity, which was turned off after the floods that hit several areas in Ambon City and its surroundings.
The switching on of this electricity is carried out after PLN officers in the field ensure that the conditions around electrical installations such as distribution substations in flooded areas are safe and not flooded.
"Now 100 percent of our distribution substations in Ambon City and its surrounding areas have returned to electricity," said General Manager of PLN's Main Unit for Maluku and North Maluku, Romantika Dwi Juni Putra in an official statement, Sunday, October 4.
According to him, based on observations in the field, the water no longer submerges people's houses. So that his party returned to supply electricity to residents' homes.
"However, we still ask residents to remain vigilant and ensure that home installations and electronic equipment are completely dry and clean before use," he said.
Previously, due to the impact of the floods that hit Ambon City on Saturday, October 3, PLN was forced to temporarily shut down electricity for the flood-affected areas.
A total of 12 distribution substations out of a total of 867 distribution stations located in Ambon City and its surroundings had to be temporarily shut down.
This is done for the safety of residents and to avoid potential electrical hazards during floods.
PLN also continues to urge residents to always be aware of the electrical hazards that can occur in rainy or flood conditions, namely:
1. Avoid taking shelter near electrical installations such as poles, substations, PJU panels and others
2. If you are going to pass through an area that is submerged in water or a flooded puddle, use waterproof shoes so you can avoid the risk of hazards such as bacteria, broken glass, nails and leaky voltage
3. When the conditions are wet, use rubber gloves if you want to touch the electrical installation
4. If you find an electrical installation that is potentially dangerous, give a warning sign and immediately report it to the PLN 123 Contact Center
