Legal Expert Supports Guarantee To Rhea Chakraborty
JAKARTA - With the murder as the cause of Sushant Singh Rajput's death ruled out by the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), all eyes are now on the Bombay High Court.
The Bombay High Court has made a bail appeal from late actor Rhea Chakraborty and her brother Showik, along with three other people, in a drug case as a judgment.
Launching the Times of India, Sunday, October 4, lawyer Satish Maneshinde, who represents Rhea, argued in the High Court that no case had been made for non-bail offenses against Rhea and Showik by the Narcotics Control Bureau.
He alleges that the false charges against Rhea related to financing illegal traffic with criminal conspiracy were filed only to deny bail to her client.
Bail should be provided when the amount of drug evidence is low, said the Delhi High Court division judge. Maneshinde has said that not only were no drugs confiscated, but the allegation that they purchased small amounts of the drugs for private Rajput consumption was sufficient to entitle them to bail.
Taraq Sayed's lawyers, who appeared for other defendants in this case, have also filed that when the amount of drugs is low, a more serious non-guarantee charge under Article 27A of the Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Act to 'finance illicit traffic' cannot be filed because These offenses are intended to deal with drug operators on a larger and international scale.
But the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) said since the offense did not state the amount financed, that would apply to Rhea's case as well.
