Wow! TikTok Ad Profits Explode, Bigger Than Twitter And Snapchat Together
JAKARTA - The ad revenue of the video-sharing app TikTok is likely to triple by 2022 to more than USD 11 billion (IDR 157 trillion). According to research firm Insider Intelligence, Total exceeds the combined sales of rivals Twitter Inc and Snap Inc.
TikTok, which is owned by Chinese company ByteDance, is one of the most popular social media apps in the world today. In fact, this application is claimed to have more than 1 billion active users.
"TikTok's user base has exploded in recent years, and the amount of time users spend on the app is incredible," said Debra Aho Williamson, analyst at Insider Intelligence, cited from Reuters.

Twitter and Snapchat are expected to generate $5.58 billion and $4.86 billion in advertising revenue for 2022, respectively. But when the two are combined they're still less than 11 billion US dollars projected for TikTok in the same year.
Nearly $6 billion, or more than half of TikTok's ad revenue this year, is expected to come from the United States, despite regulatory concerns over US user data being passed to China.
