86 Students In Tangerang Arrested By Police On Their Way To The DPR Building

TANGERANG - A total of 86 students were detained by the Tangerang Metro Police. They were arrested because they planned to take part in a demonstration (unras) in Jakarta.

"So there are a total of 86 that they plan to move to Jakarta," said the Tangerang Metro Police Chief, Kombes Komarudin, Monday, April 11.

Komarudin said from a temporary investigation, the students were instigated by an invitation by irresponsible persons. The reason is, most of the students who were detained did not know the problem with the action of the demonstration.

"Meanwhile there are those who go through WA, Japri and so on. They are still in a circle of friends," he explained.

Of the dozens of students who were arrested, continued Komarudin, Teluknaga sub-district became the largest contributor to those arrested.

"While the highest was from Teluknaga up to 26 school children. It was according to the prediction that there would be children from the Sepatan, Pakuhaji and Teluknaga areas (who took part in the demonstration)," he said.

Komarudin ensured that until now, of the dozens of students who were detained, none of them carried weapons.

"What we have secured are the attributes of the red and white flag, the school attributes that they each made," he said.

Dozens of students were recorded at the Tangerang Metro Police.

"We are still investigating, we will collect data first, we will identify them, including fingerprints and all that. However, if we find indications on social media or on cellphones that point to things that violate criminal provisions, we will process them," he said.
