Ridwan Kamil Will Use The Results Of The Survey To Evaluate His Performance
BANDUNG - The Governor of West Java, M Ridwan Kamil, said that the survey results from a number of survey institutions would be used as evaluation material for his performance as governor of West Java.
"For me, these days when it comes to survey matters, just monitor the results and evaluate yourself. If it turns out to be liked, it means that you are liked because of the work you do," he said, in a written statement, quoted by Antara, Monday, April 11.
The results of the latest survey by Saiful Mujani Research and Consulting (SMRC) entitled "Prospects of the President in 2024" Updated National Survey: March 13-20 2022 shows that his position as a figure favored by the public is still high.
He said that his job as governor is to work and even if the results of his work are appreciated, this is the result he deserves.
He said that the important thing is that the results of this survey prove that the electoral process is directly proportional to performance, so that working with image and sincerity is different. "The results of this survey are the most favorable, perhaps our sincerity in working will pay off and we will appreciate it," he said.
Whether the survey results strengthen his determination to step up as a presidential candidate in the 2024 election, he is reluctant to discuss further.
He emphasized that his move to join the party in mid-2022, even though whether it was carried out or not, admitted that it was a matter of fate. "If that's the case, it can't be said that destiny is from now on. If there is an opportunity to go forward, bismillah, if there isn't, then there is no problem," he said.
Previously, SMRC researcher, Sirodjudin Abbas, said that an elementary factor in choosing a presidential candidate is the psychology of choosing: knowing and liking what he knows.
"Knowing is not enough. Knowing if you don't like it will not lead to voting. Therefore, "like" is a deeper indication to explain why people choose a candidate," he said in a release received by the media, Friday, April 8.
SMRC said that Kamil was rated by respondents as the most favored figure among the names circulating and was mentioned as a presidential candidate. Although above him there are still Prabowo Subianto, Ganjar Pranowo, and Anies Baswedan. Of all the names, only Prabowo Subianto has his own "political vehicle", namely the Gerindra Party.
