Airlangga: The COVID-19 Vaccine Will Focus On Being Given To Medical Personnel To Satpol PP

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Committee for Handling COVID-19 and National Economic Recovery (PC-PEN) Airlangga Hartarto emphasized that the COVID-19 vaccine, which is available at the end of the year to early 2021, will be given to 160 million people with a need of 320 million to 370 million doses.

"Of the 160 million people, we give (vaccines) to those who are of productive age or about 70 percent. They are aged 19-59 years. He explained that in the first quarter of 2021 there were 75 million vaccines. Then in the second quarter (2021) there were 105 (million), 80 million in the third quarter and 80 million in the fourth quarter of 2021.

This vaccine, said Airlangga , was prioritized for those who were at the forefront. Whether it's health workers (health workers), doctors, nurses, medical officers, TNI-Polri to Satpol-PP.

"And of course it is also considered for patients with comorbidities. And this will involve 10,134 health centers, 2,877 hospitals. Then the government, be it Ministries, government hospitals, TNI-Polri, local governments, and the private sector. Then also along with 49 KKP in their respective work areas , "he said.

The Coordinating Minister for the Economy said the government was preparing a Presidential Regulation (Perpres) and guidelines related to COVID-19 vaccination.

"The technicality will be finalized through a Presidential Decree and a roadmap for immunization is being prepared," he said.

Covid-19 Case Cured Ratio Beat Global

On the other hand, Airlangga revealed that the cured cases of COVID-19 in Indonesia continued to increase, thanks to the hard work of a number of medical personnel and the team involved. In fact, Indonesia's recovery ratio of total cases has reached 75.03 percent, higher than the global average of 74.4 percent.

However, the Government still has homework to ensure that the case fatality rate (CFR) does not increase anymore.

"The current CFR is 3.73 percent slightly higher than global 2.98 percent," he said.
