About Industry 5.0, Erick Thohir: Indonesia Needs Young People Who Will Face Challenges Not Running
JAKARTA - Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir said that currently state-owned companies have entered the era of digital transformation. Therefore, SOEs really need a lot of digitally skilled workers.
However, Erick regrets that there are still many who do not know, even misconceptions about BUMN. In fact, said Erick, there are many state-owned companies with various fields of work.
Therefore, said Erick, SOEs will open up as many job opportunities as young people who are literate and dare to take up this challenge.
"Talking about industry 5.0 is about Indonesian people who can be ready to use disruptive changes rather than technology. We need young people who will face challenges, not run," he said, quoted from his official Instagram @erickthohir, Sunday, April 10.
Erick emphasized that from the start as Minister of State-Owned Enterprises, he was committed to transformation and downsizing in order to encourage productivity and young leaders.
BUMN will open 2,700 job vacancies
Previously reported, Erick Thohir said that his party plans to open 2700 job vacancies in April 2022. He also invites Indonesia's best young people to join state-owned companies.
Erick Thohir said that his party continues to open up opportunities to work in BUMN. The ministry he leads opens job opportunities for 40 state-owned companies which will be launched next week. It is planned that the recruitment process will be carried out in May.
"I want the best young people in Indonesia to enter BUMN," said Erick.
According to Erick, this is because the Ministry of BUMN is now encouraging young leadership in BUMN companies. Currently, there are five percent of SOE directors under 42 years of age in 2021. In 2023 it will be increased to 10 percent.
"Sustainability of leadership, the sustainability of the younger generation must continue. That's what we encourage in BUMN," he said.
