Good News, There Will Be KRL On The Yogyakarta-Solo Route Starting At The End Of October
JAKARTA - The operation of the electric train to replace the Prambanan Ekspres train that has been serving the Solo-Yogyakarta route and even to Kutoarjo, can soon be enjoyed by passengers in the work area of PT KAI, Operation Region 6 Yogyakarta.
"Hopefully, the end of October or the beginning of November can be tried here until it really matches the conditions of the facilities and infrastructure prepared," said Senior Manager of the Indonesian Commuter Train (KCI) Region 6 Yogyakarta Dedy Setiawan quoted from Antara, Friday, October 2.
Dedy said that a number of facilities and infrastructure that continue to be fulfilled include the need for overhead electricity, substations, depots, and electric railroad trains made at PT INKA.
"Currently, we continue to meet the needs for supporting facilities and infrastructure for the operation of the electric train (KRL)," he said.
He mentioned that from the need for 10 trainset, two train circuits were currently in the process of endurance testing in Jakarta.
KCI Yogyakarta hopes that the operation of the electric train can be carried out in early January 2021 or even expected to be realized sooner.
"However, this KRL operation will be carried out in stages, namely from Yogyakarta-Klaten first and then from Klaten-Solo and continued to Kutoarjo. Or it can reach Kroya. Hopefully like that," he said.
Dedy said the KRL operational standards that will be run in Daop 6 are adjusted to the standards that have been implemented for KRL which has been serving Jabodetabek.
"We will also provide a touch of local wisdom with excellent service for all train customers," he said.
The operation of KRL in the PT KAI Daop 6 Yogyakarta work area is marked by the transfer of local train management from Daop 6, which has been the operator of Prambanan Ekspres to PT KAI Commuter.
KAI Commuter President Director Wiwik Widayanti said KRL services in the operational area of Daop 6 Yogyakarta would be different from services for Prambanan Ekspres, one of which was for ticket purchases.
"Later we will use a multitrip card. As long as there is a balance, it can be used to board the train," he said.
This system will reduce a lot of passenger queues. In addition, striving for faster train travel time services with stop points at more stations so that it can support efforts to improve the community's economy.
Currently, the Prambanan Ekspres travel time for the Yogyakarta-Solo route is around 56 minutes with a train speed of 70-80 kilometers per hour. "We propose that the train speed can be up to 90 kilometers per hour so that the travel time is faster," he said.
He mentioned that the potential for KRL passengers in Daop 6 Yogyakarta is quite high, which can be seen from the dense volume of vehicles on the Yogyakarta-Solo highway.
