Selling Sate As A Front For Circulating Drugs, 39-Year-Old Woman Arrested By Police

JAKARTA - The West Nusa Tenggara Regional Police Special Team arrested a woman selling sea fish satay in the Kempo area, Dompu Regency, for allegedly distributing shabu-shabu.

West Nusa Tenggara Regional Police Dirresnarkoba Kombes Helmi Kwarta Kusuma Putra Rauf said the woman with the initials YY (39) was arrested with evidence of shabu-shabu in packages ready for distribution.

"There are eleven packs of clips that we found from the search at his house. They weighed up to 32 grams," said Helmi, who was accompanying the arrest in Dompu, reported by Antara, Friday, October 2.

Evidence, he explained, was found on the second floor of the perpetrator's house. Officers found him in a box filled with dirty clothes and pillows.

"In the dirty clothes was found a black plastic bag containing a clip containing crystal methamphetamine. There were also electric scales and empty plastic clips," he said.

In addition to evidence that strengthens YY's role as a methamphetamine dealer, members of the police also safeguarded YY's cell phone and cash, gold jewelery, and YY's savings account.

"So we suspect that he was trading in satay, only as a camouflage for him to distribute drugs," he said.

Furthermore, Helmi said that YY's arrest at his house, which is also a place for him to trade, was revealed by the presence of public information.

Together with the Dompu Police Operational Team, the joint personnel under the control of AKP I Made Yogi Purusa Utama immediately brought YY along with evidence to the Dompu Police Headquarters.

"So for development, we leave the case at the Dompu Police," he said.

As a result of his actions, now YY, who has been secured by officers, is facing a minimum sentence of four years in prison. The threat of punishment is in accordance with the criminal suspicion of Article 112 Paragraph 2 and Article 114 Paragraph 2 of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 35/2009 on Narcotics.
