60 Minutes Flying From Aceh To Kualanamu And Airplane Fares Translucent Above IDR 1 Million, DPRA Members Ask The Ministry Of Transportation To Conduct An Evaluation

JAKARTA - Member of Commission VI of the Aceh House of Representatives (DPRA) Teuku Raja Keumangan asked the Ministry of Transportation of the Republic of Indonesia to immediately evaluate the high selling price of airplane tickets to Aceh Province which has occurred since the last few months.

"The high selling price of air tickets from and to Aceh is very burdensome for the community, so it has an impact on investment and the economy of the Acehnese people," said Teuku Raja Keumangan in Meulaboh, quoted from Antara, on March 10.

He gave an example, the selling price of Wings Air plane tickets from Sultan Iskandar Muda Blang Bintang International Airport, Aceh Besar to Kualanamu International Airport, Deli Serdang, North Sumatra, is now sold for Rp. 1.3 million to Rp. 1.7 million for one flight.

From January to March 2022, the selling price of the ATR 72-600 series plane ticket was also sold at high prices ranging from Rp. 900 thousand to Rp. 1.2 million per passenger per flight.

Meanwhile, the ticket for Aceh to Jakarta, said the politician from the Golkar Party of Aceh Province, was also sold at high prices ranging from Rp. 1.5 million to Rp. 2 million for a single flight using an airline bearing the lion logo.

Meanwhile, if using state-owned aircraft, the ticket selling price ranges from Rp. 2 million to Rp. 3 million for one flight.

However, when compared to flights from Kualanamu International Airport, Deli Serdang, North Sumatra to Jakarta with a distance of about two hours, ticket prices are very cheap, namely in the price range of IDR 700 thousand to IDR 1 million for one flight.

Meanwhile for flights from Aceh to North Sumatra, the selling price of plane tickets with flights of about 55 minutes to 60 minutes is sold at a price above Rp. 1 million.

Teuku Raja Keumangan also said that the condition of the high cost of air tickets to and from Aceh was deeply complained of by the public and business actors.

In addition to being burdensome, the high price of air tickets to the area with the nickname "Veranda of Mecca" has also disrupted investment and the people's economy.

"We hope that the government through the Ministry of Transportation of the Republic of Indonesia will immediately address the issue of the high cost of air tickets to Aceh, so that the investment climate and the people's economy do not get worse," said Teuku Raja Keumangan.
