Making Proud, Faculty Of Medicine Unair Is In The Top 400 In The World
JAKARTA - Faculty of Medicine Universitas Airlangga (FK Unair) Surabaya is ranked 401-450 in the world ranking version of "Quacquarelli Symonds World University Rankings" by Subject 2022. Dean of FK Unair Prof. Budi Santoso in Surabaya, said last year FK Unair was in a position between 551-600 in the world.
"Alhamdulillah, FK Unair got an extraordinary increase in ranking. We are grateful and happy to jump more than 100 points in our ranking. But this is also a challenge how in the future the global ranking can rise again," said Prof Budi, quoted from ANTARA, Saturday, April 9th.
In addition to the rapid increase in the ranking of FK Unair in the world, the ranking of these faculties in Indonesia has also increased. According to him, last year, which was in fourth position in Indonesia, was in second place under the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Indonesia and replaced the Faculty of Medicine of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) which was previously ranked second.
This achievement, he said, cannot be separated from several indicators that have been met by FK Unair, such as H-index Citation, Citation per Paper, Academic Reputation, Employer Reputation, the capacity of the 2022 SBMPTN, and FK Unair 2021 fans.
"What is assessed is related to three things, namely education, research, and community service. We also improve the journals at FK Unair in terms of quality by providing continuous guidance to lecturers and students," he said.
"The managers are also held special training so that the quality of the journals is getting better," he added.
Not only that, in the learning process, FK Unair also carries the concept of entrepreneurship to expand the competence of its graduates.
"The curriculum at FK Unair is related to entrepreneurship because it doesn't always have a business connotation. We teach students how to express ideas and creative actions towards an opportunity," he said.
"Because these opportunities must be created and transformed as challenges to become creative ideas, as well as actions that have a large enough impact," said Prof. Budi added.
