Disappointed With ASN Candidate Test Results, Mass Burning Of Dinasker Building In Papua New Guinea
JAYAPURA - The Keerom Police Team, Papua, arrested six people in connection with the burning of a number of office buildings and the blocking of the Trans Papua road in Arso.
Kapolres Keerom AKBP Baktiar Joko Mujiono said three people were arrested in connection with the destruction and burning of the government office. Meanwhile, the other three were related to the attack on Arso II.
"The masses again tried to take action on Friday morning by blocking the Trans Papua road which is the main road in Keerom," Baktiar said as quoted by Antara, Friday, October 2.
The crowd was then forcibly dispersed by police who fired warning shots and tear gas.
"This morning there was a cross action by the community, but we managed to disperse it by firing warning shots and tear gas," he said.
There were hundreds of people who carried out anarchic actions by destroying the regent's office and burning the Manpower Office (Disnaker), as well as the Village Community Empowerment Agency (BPMK) of Keerom Regency on Thursday (1/10).
The action was carried out because the masses were protesting the announcement of the acceptance of the new ASN candidates announced on Thursday, October 1 at noon online.
