JAKARTA - The case of Abdul Malik 'the Lamborghini Cowboy' involved another party. After the police revealed the possession of an offset of rare animals and firearms belonging to him, the case spread to another person, the son of artist Ayu Azhari, Axel Djody Gondokusumo.
South Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Bastoni Purnama said Axel was involved in the illegal firearms trade with Abdul Malik after the development was carried out.
From the investigation of Abdul Malik, he admitted that his illegal firearms were purchased from Axel. He was made a suspect in this case.
"The results of the statement by the perpetrator AM (Abdul Malik), (Firearms) obtained M16 and M4 weapons were obtained from the initials ADG (Axel Djody Gondokusumo)," said Bastoni in Jakarta, Wednesday, January 8.
Axel, he continued, was not alone in running this business. He collaborated with Muhammad Setiawan Arifin in the business of buying and selling illegal weapons, who has also been named a suspect in the case. They sold firearms to Abdul Malik for nearly hundreds of millions of rupiah.
Apart from these two suspects, the police also arrested another suspect named Yunarko. He was the seller of three firearms and a grenade to Abdul.
"Of the three (Axel, Setiawan and Yunarko), we will continue to study where they came from (firearms). While it is still in the process of investigation," said Bastoni.
Bastoni explained that the suspects were arrested at different locations but at the same time, namely Saturday, December 28.
Axel was arrested at his residence in the Mampang Prapatan area, South Jakarta. Meanwhile, Muhammad Setiawan Arifin was arrested in the Pinang Ranti area, East Jakarta. Then. Yunarko was arrested in Duren Sawit, East Jakarta.
With the proof that the three men committed criminal acts, they were charged with the Emergency Law of the Republic of Indonesia Article 1 paragraph 1 with the threat of a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.
