Bandung City Government Asks Residents Not To Buy Excessive Fuel

BANDUNG - The Bandung City Government (Pemkot) appealed to the public not to buy fuel oil (BBM) excessively, causing a panic buying phenomenon.

The Acting Mayor of Bandung, Yana Mulyana, asked Pertamina as a fuel provider to distribute subsidized fuel in a targeted manner so as not to cause public concern.

"Pertamina begs to be more selective and increased so that subsidized diesel is for those in need," Yana said in Bandung, West Java, as reported by Antara, Friday, April 8.

In addition to urging the public, Yana also hopes that Pertamina can also pay attention to the issue of fuel prices so that they remain affordable for the community.

Head of the Bandung City Trade and Industry Office, Elly Wasliah, also hopes that Pertamina can pay attention to the supply of fuel and gas during the 10-day long holiday.

"It is hoped that Pertamina will be able to guarantee the availability of fuel, in anticipation of the Eid al-Fitr joint leave for people who will travel within the city or outside the city," said Elly.

Meanwhile, Pertamina Sales Branch Manager Warim Wiriwo admitted that there had been a shortage of Pertalite in Bandung some time ago. This is due to the increasing needs of the community at the beginning of the month of Ramadan.

But now he guarantees that the stock of fuel in the city of Bandung is in a safe condition. Starting from Pertalite, Subsidized Solar, and other types of fuel.

"Starting this week, Pertalite in Bandung City is safely available, Pertalite stock conditions in gas stations are sufficient for up to eight days and suppliers keep coming, so they don't rely on existing stock," Warim said.
