Update On COVID-19 As Of October 2: New Cases Of 4,317, Heal, Up 2,853

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) releases the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 today. A total of 42,421 specimens were examined today. As a result, there were 4,317 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 295,499 people," the Ministry of Health was quoted as saying, Friday, October 2.

The number of recovered cases today has increased by 2,853, so that a total of 221,340 people have recovered. Then, the confirmed positive cases who died increased by 116 people and a total of 10,972 people.

The province with the most new cases is in DKI Jakarta with 1,198 new cases and a total of 76,187 cases. DKI Jakarta is also the province with the most accumulated cases in Indonesia.

Followed by West Java which has 544 new cases with a total of 23,308 cases. Central Java has 344 new cases and a total of 23,078 cases. East Kalimantan has 319 new cases and a total of 9,101 cases. Then, East Java has 283 new cases and a total of 44,341 cases.

The province with the most cases recovered today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an increase of 655 recovered cases. Followed by East Java with an additional 360 recovered cases, Central Java with an additional 203 recovered cases, and South Sulawesi with an additional 190 recovered cases.

Then, none of the provinces reported having no new cases today. The provinces that have cases under 10 are Bengkulu, North Kalimantan, North Maluku, West Kalimantan and West Sulawesi.

In addition, the number of specimens that had been examined reached 3,407,911. In detail, 3,407,911 specimens were examined using real time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and 53,573 using molecular rapid tests (TCM).

"The number of positive results per number of specimens examined (positivity rate) was 14.4 percent," he wrote.

Finally, the number of people suspected of having contracted COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, was recorded at 135,348 people. At present, 497 districts / cities from 34 provinces have had COVID-19 cases.
