Jokowi Slow To Respond To Discourse On Election Delay, Gerindra Politician: To Test Political Party Loyalty
JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo has finally strictly forbade ministers in his cabinet to end the discourse on postponing the election and extending the presidential term for 3 terms.
Although the firm response was considered slow by various parties. However, the ministers are not supposed to talk about the discourse because it is a political realm.
Responding to Jokowi's slow assertiveness, Gerindra politician Arief Poyuono believes that the President is deliberately letting the issue go wild to test the loyalty of political parties that have supported him in the government.
"The discourse on three terms, extension of office, and postponement of the election seems to be just a test on the water that Jokowi is doing to ensure the loyalty of the coalition political parties to Kangmas Jokowi," said Arief Poyuono to reporters, Friday, April 8. According to Arief, Jokowi wants to see which political parties really support him. Not to continue his leadership in the third term, but at least until the end of the government until 2024. "Because this concerns Jokowi's position whether until 2024 or not. From here the coalition political parties that are loyal to guard Jokowi until the end of his term in 2024 are clear, namely PKB and Golkar," continued Poyuono. The chairman of the United Federation of SOEs also believes that President Jokowi is not a random person. Arief said, the former governor of DKI Jakarta was intelligent and very understanding of the constitution, which forbids a three-term president.
