Din Syamsuddin Asks The Government Not To Suspect US

JAKARTA - The Presidium of the Coalition for Action to Save Indonesia (WE) Din Syasmsuddin responded to the statement by the Chief of Staff to the President (KSP) Moeldoko regarding the existence of WE. Din emphasized that WE do have an interest.

"Straightening the direction of the nation and the country which has many irregularities, reminding the government to seriously tackle COVID-19 by prioritizing people's health and safety above economic and political programs (Pilkada)," said Din Syamsuddin in a written statement, Friday, October 2.

WE, according to Din Syamsuddin, also have an interest in the government to seriously eradicate corruption and to seriously address economic injustice.

"That is part of a set of OUR interests, which in essence WE have an interest in the government and its staff, including the KSP, to work seriously to carry out the mandate of the people, because the salary earned comes from people's money," Din continued.

WE emphasized that Din Syamsuddin did not divide the people. The criticisms and corrections that were delivered by US, continued Din, were carried out in accordance with the applicable regulations.

"WE remind Mr. KSP Moeldoko and the ranks of power not to threaten the people. In the era of modern democracy today, arrogance of power, repressive and authoritarian attitudes are outdated. We are increasingly facing challenges and threats will be a trigger to remain friendly in the struggle, "said Din.

Moeldoko previously considered the Coalition for Action to Save Indonesia (US) as a form of a group of interests.

"They are only a group of interests, go ahead, no one prohibits them. If the idea is good, we take it. But if the direction imposes interests, there will be calculations," said Moeldoko in an interview note on the reflection of Pancasila Power Day, quoted by Antara, Thursday, October 1 .

Moeldoko said the existence of a number of ideas presented by the US made the political climate dynamic. However, he warned that the ideas put forward should not try to disrupt political stability.

"Don't try to disrupt political stability. If the form has disrupted political stability, there are risks to it. The state has calculations in placing democracy and stability," said Moeldoko.
