Jakarta-Bandung High Speed Rail Project Called On Target, Ridwan Kamil: November Trial During G20
BANDUNG - West Java Governor M Ridwan Kamil said the trial of the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed train will be carried out in November 2022 to coincide with the G20 Presidency event.
"In November 2022, during the G20 event, the Jakarta Bandung High Speed Train will experiment with starting a trial operation, so that it raises the spirit that everything is according to the process," said Ridwan Kamil at the Pakuan State Building, Bandung, West Java, as reported by Antara, Thursday, April 7.
Met after holding a meeting with the President Director of PT Kereta Api Indonesia China (KCIC) Dwiyana S Riyadi, Ridwan Kamil said that the development of the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed train had met the target.
According to him, currently, the progress of the fast train construction has reached 80 percent. In addition, PT KCIC has agreed that initial operations will be carried out in June 2023.
At that time, said Ridwan Kamil, the first passengers were able to use the fast train.
"November 2022 residents of West Java can see fast trains seen in the field back and forth on the tracks and will be exhibited at the G20 event," he said.
According to him, with the existing progress, several areas affected by the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed train development process must participate in helping to find investors.
This is because the Jakarta Bandung Fast Train is a step to advance the region, especially in Greater Bandung.
"Please note, this fast train has two functions, one means of transportation, the second is a means of regional growth. There will be a station where development will grow, so that people can live in Walini, in Tegalluar. Well, that option is possible," he said. Meanwhile, Dwiyana said, the progress of the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed train so far has reached 80 percent and the tunnel installation is almost complete.
"All that remains is to complete the erection girder box. So, now we have crossed kilometer 145, towards Tegalluar, Cileunyi. And yesterday there was a toll road underneath it, so we have to be careful," he said.
After the erection girder box installation is completed, said Dwiyana, the construction process is heading to completion because it only needs to install rails for the train speed and the installation technique is different from conventional methods.
"For the installation of the rails, technology and machines will be used, so it's not as fast as ordinary trains," he said.
