The Flower Sowing Event Attended By Gatot Nurmantyo At The Kalibata TMP Did Not Have The Ministry Of Social Affairs Permit

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos) did not issue a permit for the flower-sowing event held by the Retired Guard of State Sovereignty (PPKN) at the Heroes Cemetery (TMP), Kalibata, South Jakarta.

"PPKN made a letter for permission to carry out the pilgrimage at the TMP. Then the letter was shown to the Ministry of Social Affairs. However, from the Ministry of Social Affairs it was not permitted on the grounds of COVID-19," said Pangdam Jaya Maj. Gen. TNI Dudung Abdurachman to reporters, Thursday, October 1.

However, the participants of the flower sowing event did not obey the rules and continued to hold activities. Even at the location, participants ignored the officers' appeal.

In fact, this activity has the potential for transmission of COVID-19. This is because the transmission rate in Jakarta is quite high.

"However, the police chief's appeal was not heeded, and still carried out the crowd," he said.

In fact, the event which was attended by retired officers was called without the knowledge of the Chairman of the Indonesian Armed Forces (Pepabri) Retired Army General (Purn) Agum Gumelar.

Until finally the flower sowing event turned into a declaration of support for the Coalition for Action to Save Indonesia (US).

"So that in the end, the retired men yesterday were wary of information that used retired officers for personal gain," he said.

The flower-sowing event at the Hero Cemetery (TMP) Kalibata, South Jakarta took place on Wednesday, September 30. The event which was attended by Gatot Nurmantyo was said to have ended in chaos.

The riot started when a group of people acting on behalf of students arrived at the location. They rejected the flower sowing action.

However, retired officers responded negatively to this rejection. After that there was chaos between the two groups.
