PALEMBANG - The team of the Directorate of Special Criminal Investigation (Ditreskrimsus) of the South Sumatra Police in the past month revealed two cases of hoarding subsidized diesel fuel (BBM).
Dirreskrimsus Polda Sumsel Kombes M Barly Ramadhany said that from the two cases his party arrested five people with the initials AP, AR, MRA, MN, and MFA.
Meanwhile, the evidence is in the form of hundreds of liters of diesel fuel, two units of Toyota Kijang type car with license plate number BG 1621 MF and Isuzu Panter BG 1446 NW and one pump unit.
"There are also two notes, IDR 350,000 in cash and two units of gadgets," he explained when the case was released in Palembang, Antara, Wednesday, April 6.
The first case was revealed at the location of the diesel fuel storage on Jalan A Yani, 14 Ulu Village, Seberang Ulu II Subdistrict, Palembang, Monday, March 28 at around 22.00 WIB.
From the crime scene, officers arrested two suspects, namely AP and AR with evidence of a car with a modified fuel tank larger than the factory standard size with a load of 108 liters of subsidized diesel.
"At that time, there was information from the public which stated that there was hoarding at the crime scene (TKP), then our members, investigators of Unit 2 Sub-Directorate IV Tipidter, Ditreskrimsus, South Sumatra Police went to the location to find the suspected perpetrators of AP and AR with evidence of a modified car containing 108 liters of diesel fuel. ," he said.
Then the second case was revealed on Friday, April 1 at around 15.30 WIB by the Unit 2 Sub-Directorate IV Tipidter Ditreskrimsus team of the South Sumatra Police by arresting three suspects with the initials MRA, MN, and MFA.
The suspects committed the crime of hoarding subsidized diesel with the same mode, namely modifying the car's tank to accommodate large amounts of fuel when buying subsidized diesel at public gas stations (SPBU).
"From the statements of the perpetrators, they modified the car's tank so that the cargo was bigger and could accommodate diesel fuel of up to 100 liters," said the Direskrimsus.
For this crime, the perpetrators are subject to Article 55 of Law Number 22 of 2001 concerning Oil and Gas which has been amended in Article 40 point 9 of Law Number 11 of 2020 concerning Job Creation with a maximum imprisonment of six years and a maximum fine of Rp. billion.
