The Attorney General's Office Examines PT Garuda Indonesia Officials Regarding Corruption Cases
JAKARTA - The Attorney General's Office (AGO) has examined five high-ranking officials of PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. related to allegations of corruption in the procurement of aircraft in 2011-2021, which ensnared three high-ranking officials in the BUMN as suspects.
"The team of Investigating Prosecutors at the Directorate of Investigation of the Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) of the Attorney General's Office conducted an examination of five witnesses," said Head of the Legal Information Center (Kapuspenkum) at the Attorney General's Office, Ketut Sumedana, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, April 6.
Among the five witnesses, he continued, there were three former directors of PT Garuda Indonesia, namely the Director of Business Development Strategy and Risk Management in 2013 with the initials JR, the Director of Finance in 2011-2012 with the initials EL, and the Director of Engineering and Fleet Development in 2012- 2014 with the initials BS.
The Attorney General's Office also examined the Vice President (VP) Corporate Planning and Research of PT Garuda Indonesia for the April 2021 period with the initials KPS, and also examined the VP Acquisition and Aircraft Management of PT Garuda Indonesia for the April 2021 period with the initials M.
"They were investigated regarding the procurement of aircraft at PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk in 2011-2021," said Sumedana.
The examination of witnesses was carried out to strengthen evidence and complete the filing in cases of alleged corruption in the procurement of aircraft at PT Garuda Indonesia in 2011-2021.
On Tuesday (5/4), the AGO questioned a witness with the initials HAP, who was the Director of Human Resources (HR) and General Affairs in 2013, regarding a similar matter.
The alleged corruption case at PT Garuda Indonesia involved three suspects, namely Vice President Treasury Management in 2005-2012 Albert Burhan (AB), Vice President Strategic Management Office in 2011-2012 Setijo Awibowo (SA), and Executive Project Manager Aircraft Delivery in 2009. -2014 Agus Wahjudo (AW).
