This Is New Hero! OJK Deputy Chair Candidate Fauzi Ichsan Promises Jiwasraya And Cs Case To Be Completed In Two Years
JAKARTA - The candidate for Deputy Chair of the Financial Services Authority (OJK) Fauzi Ichsan expressed his readiness to resolve various major problems in the current financial services industry. One of the sectors being targeted is insurance services.
In fact, the former boss of the Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS) dared to set a relatively short deadline.
"For me, the first vision is how to solve complicated problems, such as Bumiputera, Jiwasraya, Asabri for the next two or three years," he said while undergoing a fit and proper test with the House of Representatives Commission XI at the Parliament Complex. Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday, April 6th.
According to Fauzi, this approach is the most likely thing to restore OJK's prestige in order to gain the trust of the public. The reason is that a number of problems that occur in the financial services industry are considered to have undermined this belief.
This strategy is also called by Fauzi very relevant as a stepping stone in building the credibility of the OJK to develop further targets.
"If we have not been able to solve complex problems, it is difficult for us to have a realistic vision and mission because the problems that are in front of our eyes have not been resolved," he said.
Furthermore, the economist also studied the losses caused by the problems in the insurance industry which are getting bigger and bigger.
“If we don't solve the problem, the cost of resolution will increase. For example, we know that the Jiwasraya problem has had an equity deficit since 2006. But because it is allowed to drag on, the cost of resolving the gap will be very large. So this must be resolved as soon as possible,” he explained.
Besides Fauzi Ichsan, another candidate who has the opportunity to fill the candidate for Deputy Chair of the OJK is his colleague at LPS, namely Mirza Adityaswara.
Meanwhile, the stock exchange for the candidate for Chair of the OJK is filled by Mahendra Siregar who is the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Darwin Cyril Noerhadi.
