9-Year-Old Boy Carried By Garut's Cimalaka River, SAR Deploys 1 Team
GARUT - SAR moved quickly to deploy a team to look for a nine-year-old boy who was swept away by the current of the Cimalaka River in Wanaraja District, Garut Regency, West Java, Wednesday 6 April.
Head of the Operations and Alert Section of the Bandung SAR Office, Supriono, said that he had dispatched a team to look for a victim named Fauzan (9) a resident of Tajursela Village, Sukamenak Village, Wanaraja District.
"A team has been dispatched to look for victims," he said, quoted from Antara.
He said the victim reportedly drowned while swimming with his friend in the Cimalaka River, Tuesday afternoon, April 5, until by Wednesday afternoon the victim had not been found.
The SAR team, he said, using a search tool on the river conducted a search with the community from the point where the victim disappeared.
"The victim drowned, dragged by the river current, until now the victim has not been found," he said.
The incident got the attention of many local people who came down to jointly look for the victim's whereabouts along the river.
