The Prosecutor's Sowing Team Arrests South Sulawesi Golkar Politician Who Has Been Fugitive For A Year

MAKASSAR - The Prosecution's Team for Arresting Boronans (Tabur) succeeded in arresting the convict Golkar politician from South Sulawesi, M Risman Pasigai in Jakarta. He was a fugitive from the Makassar District Attorney's Office (Kejari) for a year, after being convicted of a defamation case.

"The convict has been sentenced to six months in prison, on March 3, 2021. We have called him three times, but he is not cooperative. Finally, we cooperated with the intelligence agency Kajati and the Attorney General's Office to designate the convict as a DPO (List of People Searching)," said the Head of the Makassar Attorney General's Office, Andi Sundari was reported by Antara, Tuesday, April 5.

The convict is subject to Article 311 paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code concerning defamation and is sentenced to six months in prison. Because it has been designated as a DPO, the team continues to monitor its movements.

"We detected his whereabouts, and made an arrest last night at one of the coffee shops on Jalan Wahid Hasyim, Jakarta. After the arrest the team was immediately brought to Makassar to undergo the imprisonment process," said Sundari.

This case began when he was the Chairman of the Regional Deliberation Committee (Musda) IX of the Golkar Sulsel Party on 26-27 June 2019 at the Novotel Hotel, Jalan Jenderal Sudirman, Makassar City.

At that time, there were two Golkar cadres with the initials HA and MT who came to distribute leaflets while conveying the aspiration of the rejection of Nurdin Halid, the Candidate for Chairman of the South Sulawesi Golkar DPD and protested the Musda because they were considered to have violated the rules of the party organization.

The security committee immediately moved to ask the two of them to leave the room, while HA was outside talking to the convict. The committee and the police asked HA to immediately stay away from the Musda arena so that there would be no chaos.

The convict Risman Pasigai then gave a statement to the media at that time, both of them were RA (Rusdin Abdullah) and senior Golkar cadres in South Sulawesi who wanted to disrupt the Musda, and asked RA to come alone, not to order anyone.

However, later, it was not proven that the victim RA ordered witnesses HA and MT to come to the Musda arena to disrupt the activity so that the victim felt slandered and his reputation was slandered.

Feeling aggrieved, the victim RA finally reported it to the police and took the case to the Makassar District Court. The verdict was paroled at the first level trial, however, the Public Prosecutor (JPU) appealed to the High Court overturning the decision, then proceeded to take the case at the Cassation level. The Supreme Court finally sentenced him to six months in prison.
