Indonesia Held To A Draw With Thailand In The 2022 AFF Futsal Cup Group A Qualification

JAKARTA – The Indonesian national futsal team drew 2-2 in the preliminary round of Group A of the AFF Cup at Huanmark Indoor, Bangkok, Thailand, on Tuesday, March 5, 2022 evening WIB.

Mohammad Hashemzadeh's troops met fierce resistance from Thailand. However, Evan Soumilena managed to record his name on the scoreboard to give the Red and White team an advantage.

Instead of replying, Thailand conceded a second goal after that. Indonesian player Ardiansyah Nur managed to double the advantage to 2-0 after utilizing a free kick perfectly.

Luckily, for the War Elephant team, before halftime they managed to reduce the position. The reply goal was scored by Osamanmusa to cut the score to 2-1 which lasted until the first half.

The age gap for Thailand's struggle to identify the score is very tough. They repeatedly put pressure on Indonesia, but their efforts only paid off with six minutes remaining.

Once again Osamanmusa became a star for his team by scoring his second goal in this match. The Indonesian goal got a lot of attacks after that, but goalkeeper Muhammad Albagir's slick performance in front of goal managed to hold the score 2-2 until the match was finished.

This additional one point makes Indonesia stay in second position in Group A standings with a collection of seven points. Meanwhile, Thailand occupies the top position with the same number of points, but is ahead of goal productivity.

Indonesia and Thailand are so far the undefeated teams during the group stage. Furthermore, Indonesia will face Cambodia on Wednesday, March 6 tomorrow.
