Four Teenage Boys Arrested By Cipayung Police Returned, Police Chief: It's Not Proved, So Go Home...

JAKARTA - Four teenagers who were arrested by the Cipayung Police because they were about to brawl were finally returned to their respective parents.

Cipayung Police Chief Kompol Bambang Cipto said the four teenagers were not detained and could not be sentenced because they were not found to have sharp weapons.

"The sharp weapon has no owner, it means that no one admits it. The sharp weapon was confiscated from the Polsek, but no one had the sharp weapon. The four of them had nothing to do with the weapon. No one confessed," said Kompol Bambang when contacted by VOI, Tuesday. April 5th.

The police chief explained that things were different if when he was arrested (a sharp weapon) it was with him (it was on the perpetrator's body).

"But (the sharp weapon) was not on him (in the perpetrator's body), so he couldn't," he said.

Police Commissioner Bambang also explained that the age of the detained teenagers was 15 to 17 years old. They are only in the data, identified and made a statement so as not to repeat their actions.

"Just go home, there is no crime. The parents are called, identified and a statement is made," he said.

The data collection program, he continued, was for the study of leaders in brawl-prone areas.

"The regional police chief has a trick, it's in the data. Later if he is caught again there is data, it means this is the culprit. So it's easy (identified), this is the culprit," he said.

Before being returned to their respective parents, the four were fingerprinted, identified, collected and photographed.

"Furthermore, a statement letter was made from the parents and the RT," he said.

Previously, members of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Cipayung Police Sector arrested four underage teenagers while they were gathering to carry out a brawl on Jalan SPG 7, Lubang Buaya Village, Cipayung District, East Jakarta, Monday, April 4, evening.

The Head of Cipayung Police, Kompol Bambang Cipto, explained that the arrests began with a buser patrol who was anticipating a brawl in the Cipayung area.

"Initially there were a lot of children gathered together. Then Buser raided and scattered. Four of them were arrested by Buser. When arrested, the four admitted that they wanted to fight," said Kompol Bambang when contacted by VOI, Tuesday, April 5, afternoon.

The police chief confirmed that the four perpetrators who were arrested were local residents. They are feared to gather together to find enemies to carry out brawls. "They are local residents, they are waiting to find enemies. Because according to the order of the Regional Police Chief, disband the youth gatherings," he said.
