Check 9 CCTV And 11 Witnesses, DIY Police Identify Klitih Perpetrators Who Killed Students Using Vario Motorcycles
YOGYAKARTA - The Directorate of General Criminal Investigation of the Yogyakarta Special Region Police examined nine CCTV cameras to hunt down the perpetrators of a street crime or klitih that killed a student on Jalan Gedongkuning, Yogyakarta City.
"Currently, we are in the process of analyzing CCTV to deepen it," said Director of Criminal Investigation at the Yogyakarta Regional Police, Kombes Ade Ary Syam Indradi, at the Yogyakarta Police Headquarters, Antara, Tuesday, April 5.
Ade said the DIY Police had held a series of crime scene investigations (TKP) while collecting clues by examining 11 witnesses, as well as evidence at the location.
Although he has not been caught yet, according to him, until now the police have at least identified two motorbikes used by the perpetrators when the crime took place.
"Not yet (the perpetrator has not been caught), but the two motorcycle groups of the perpetrators have been identified. It is suspected that Vario and Nmax are based on statements from witnesses and friends of the victim," he said.
As far as the results of the investigation, Ade said, there was no information or clues that the group of victims and the gang of perpetrators knew each other.
Previously, a student in the Special Region of Yogyakarta died after being hit by a sharp object by a street criminal on Jalan Gedongkuning, Yogyakarta City, Sunday, April 3.
The victim was rushed to the Hardjolukito Hospital by an officer from the Directorate of Sabhara Polda DIY who was on patrol. However, his life could not be saved.
Ade said that early on Sunday, the group of eight victims crossed the fast lane south of the ring road area using five motorbikes.
"Eight people wanted to try the speed of the motorbike. While he was traveling at high speed his motorbike. Because the sound (muffler) of this motorbike was quite large, finally on the slow lane (ring road) the victim group met two motorbikes suspected of being the perpetrators group, which were driven by five people," said Ade.
The group of perpetrators who were suspected of being disturbed by the noise of the victim's group vehicle finally responded with a bleyer or playing with the gas motor.
"Because they feel disturbed by the noise from the victim group, this group of perpetrators lashes out, retaliating because they feel offended," said Ade.
The group of victims then continued their journey through Jalan Imogiri and ordered food at a food stall on Jalan Gedongkuning, Kotagede, Yogyakarta City.
However, the group of perpetrators passed next to him by gassing or blazing while cursing. "This triggered the group of victims to try to chase at high speed," said Ade.
By riding four motorbikes, the victim and several of his friends then chased the group of perpetrators.
After being chased, the group of perpetrators actually turned around and stopped and then slashed a sharp object that was suspected to be a strapped gear until it hit the victim's face.
The victim, who was on the second motorbike with a sling on the back, was hit by a gear shift, resulting in injuries to his face.
After the incident, the group of perpetrators fled to the south and the victim, who was still alive, was rescued by officers from the Directorate of Sabhara Polda DIY who was on patrol and rushed to RSPAU Hardjolukito, although he died on Sunday at 09.30 WIB.
