So That The Residents Are Safe, BPOM Takes 30 Samples Of Takjil Snacks In Kendari To Check The Content Of Borax And Formalin
KENDARI - The Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (POM) checks takjil to ensure that the fast food sold in Kendari City, Southeast Sulawesi Province, during the month of Ramadan 2022 is not harmful to residents.
The Coordinator of Substance Examination of the POM Sienny said the officers had taken 30 takjil samples and examined them in the laboratory.
Officers will examine the content of borax, textile and paper dyes such as rodhamine B and methanyl yellow, formalin, and other chemicals that are not allowed to be used in food in takjil samples.
"When we do the test, if we find dangerous ingredients in the snacks, we will remove them from business actors and give warnings and appeals," he said in Kendari, Antara, Tuesday, April 5.
The POM office in Kendari has conducted inspections at two takjil sales locations, namely Anduonohu Market and Mandonga Roundabout.
"According to central instructions, during the fasting month we will carry out six stages of activities for routine supervision of takjil and supervision of processed food snacks in Southeast Sulawesi," said Sienny.
In addition to taking takjil samples and examining them, during supervision, Balai POM officers provide counseling to takjil traders about the dangers of using chemicals in food preparation.
