Fingerprints That Reveal The Identity Of The Bomb Perpetrators In Medan
JAKARTA - The explosion of a suicide bombing at the Medan Police Headquarters this morning is still being investigated by the police. Various aspects are explored to find a common thread in the effort to reveal it. Until this afternoon, only the identity of the perpetrator has been discovered.
Based on fingerprints, the Indonesian Automatic Fingerprint Identification System (Inafis) team from the Criminal and Criminal Investigation Police identified the suicide bomber as Rabbial Muslim Nasution.
"This perpetrator is on behalf of the initials RMN, age 24 years old. Then, born in Medan, the status is a student," said Karo Penmas DivHumas Polri Brigadier General Dedi Prasetyo in Jakarta, Wednesday, November 13, 2019.
Dedi said that Rabbial was a lone wolf perpetrator or lone wolf because the police had not found a terrorist network linked to him. However, Densus 88 Anti-terror is still looking for a link between this man and the terrorist network in Indonesia and the world.
Regarding the type of bomb used by the perpetrator, the police have not been able to provide information. However, at the crime scene the police found a 9 volt battery, metal plate, several nails of various sizes, large and small cables, and an on / off switch or detonator.
"(The bomb) was tied to the body," said Dedi while showing the gesture of the bomb being stored at the perpetrator's waist.
Separately confirmed, the Head of Public Relations of the North Sumatra Regional Police, Kombes Tatan Dirsan Atmaja, said that when he was in action, the perpetrator wore a jacket with an online transportation application logo. Based on information gathered by the police, the perpetrator had worked as an online motorcycle taxi driver. "The information is like that but we are still coordinating," said Tatan.
