MATARAM - The Mataram City Police, West Nusa Tenggara, uncovered the practice of prostitution under the guise of a beauty salon located in a number of shop houses in the Cakranegara area, Mataram.
Kasatreskrim Polresta Mataram Kompol Kadek Adi Budi Astawa said that in this case the police had arrested five women, including the owner of a beauty salon. "Four women are salon maids and one is the owner," he said in Mataram, Antara, Tuesday, April 5.
The five women who were arrested had the initials PA (21), RN (23), SK (21), NI (25), and the salon owner had the initials ES (29). They were arrested by a joint team from the Satreskrim Polresta Mataram together with the Sandubaya Police, last Monday evening.
His arrest began with community reports which continued in active raids. The result of the raid was later revealed that there was a practice of prostitution. During the raid, the police found a man and a woman on the second floor naked. Lots of used contraceptives on the floor.
"Starting from the findings at the location, we immediately secured everything (the perpetrators and evidence) and continued the examination at the PPA unit," he said.
From the results of the examination at the Women and Children Protection Unit (PPA) of the Mataram Police Satreskrim, additional evidence was revealed that confirmed the alleged practice of prostitution in ES's beauty salon.
The evidence was revealed from the confession of a male and female couple who were caught naked together in a room on the second floor of a beauty salon.
"It was also found from the traces of cellphone (mobile) communication. The woman initially offered SPA services, then made an appointment to meet here (beauty salon). So there is a tariff," he said.
During the examination, the owner of the ES salon denied having practiced prostitution. "Although the information is different, later everything will be corroborated with evidence, including evidence from the TKP results from Tuesday afternoon at the location," he said.
