Hotman Paris Brings Syahrini's In-Law's Company To Win In Court
JAKARTA - The famous lawyer, Hotman Paris Hutapea, brought his client, PT Global Mediacom Tbk, to win a lawsuit against KT Corporation. The South Korean telecommunications company previously filed a bankruptcy request for Global Mediacom.
The Central Jakarta Commercial Court also officially rejected the bankruptcy request from KT Corporation to a company owned by Rosano Barack, the father-in-law of celebrity Syahrini. Hotman revealed the results of the verdict on his personal Instagram account @hotmanparisofficial.
"The commercial court rejected the bankruptcy application of the Korean company (KT Corporation) against Global Mediacom, the parent company of the MNC Group. The Hotman Paris team won today in the commercial court against the Korean company and its lawyer Amir Syamsuddin, the former Minister of Law and Human Rights," said Hotman in his video upload, quoted by VOI , Thursday, October 1.
Previously, this bankruptcy case was registered on Tuesday (28/7/2020) and received case number 33 / Pdt.Sus-Pailit / 2020 / PN Niaga Jkt.Pst. Meanwhile, the applicant in this case, KT Corporation, was represented by Warakah Anhar.
"Declare that PT Global Mediacom Tbk has its address at MNC Tower 27th floor, Jl. Kebon Sirih No.17-19, Jakarta 10340 (Bankrupt Respondent) is bankrupt with all its legal consequences," read the petitum (petition) written in the Court Case Tracking Information System. Negeri Jakarta Pusat.
In his petition, Warakah asked the court to appoint and appoint a curatorial team registered at the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, consisting of Fennieka Kristianto, Yongki Martinus Siahaan and Ronal Hermanto.
For the services of the curator team, the Respondent also asked the judge to determine that the fees for the Curator Service would be determined later in accordance with the applicable provisions after the Curator carried out his duties and sentenced the Respondent to Bankruptcy to pay all the court fees.
Responding to the report, Director of Global Mediacom Chief Legal Counsel Christophorus Taufik assessed that the actions taken by South Korean companies were considered defamation. In addition, it will take the necessary steps to protect its rights.

He explained that the petition was invalid because the agreement on which the application was based had been canceled based on the decision of the South Jakarta District Court No. 97 / Pdt.G / 2017 / PN.Jak.Sel dated 4 May 2017 which has permanent legal force.

Meanwhile Global Mediacom asked PT Bursa Efek Indonesia to remove the special notation on the shares of this company coded BMTR. This petition was filed because the Central Jakarta Commercial Court rejected the lawsuit filed by KT Corporation.
Global Mediacom Corporate Secretary Abuzzal Abusaeri said the Panel of Judges considered the bankruptcy petition filed by KT Corporation could not prove article 2 paragraph 1 of Law No.37 of 2004.
He also said that the Panel of Judges decided the case No.33 / Pdt.Sus-Pailit / 2020 / PN.Jkt.Pst by declaring that they rejected the bankruptcy filed by KT Corporation.
