Randy, Who Killed His Wife And Baby At The Age Of 1 Year, Then Wrapped In Trash Cans Can Now Be Sentenced To Death

JAKARTA - The East Nusa Tenggara High Prosecutor's Office said that the suspect in the murder of a mother and a 1-year-old baby in Kupang named Randy Badjideh, faces the death penalty if found guilty.

"If found guilty, Randy could be sentenced to death," said Head of Information at the NTT High Prosecutor's Office, Abdul Hakim, in Kupang, Tuesday, April 5.

Randy is now subject to multiple articles, namely articles 340, 338 and 80 of the Criminal Code with a maximum threat of the death penalty.

Last March 23, the public prosecutor (JPU) of the East Nusa Tenggara District Attorney's Office stated that the criminal case file for Randy Badjideh, the perpetrator of the murder of mothers and children in Kupang, was complete (P-21).

After it was stated that the case files were complete, on Friday (1/4), the team of investigators from the NTT Police then immediately handed over the suspect and evidence to the NTT Prosecutor's Office.

"Randy is currently in detention awaiting a trial schedule at the Kupang District Court," he added, as quoted by Antara.

The case of the murder of a mother with the initials AM and her child with the initials LM, who is one year old by Randy, who is LM's biological father, has been handled since the end of last November.

This case was uncovered after a SPAM project worker in Kupang found the body wrapped in a broken and rotting plastic bag.

The police also conducted an autopsy in early December 2021 and managed to find out the initials of the two victims. The case is not only a concern in Kupang City, because the police are considered slow in investigating the case.

A number of mass organizations in Kupang held several demonstrations at the NTT Police. Meanwhile in Jakarta, several mass organizations demonstrated at the National Police Headquarters.

Finally, DPR Commission III member Benny K Harman urged the National Police Chief to take over the case because the NTT Police Chief was considered slow in handling the case.
