10 Kg Of Sabu Courier Police And Tens Of Thousands Of Ecstasy Sentenced To Death
DUMAI - Two defendants who delivered 10 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine drug courier and 30,566 ecstasy pills were sentenced to death in court at the Class 1A Dumai District Court, Riau.
The death sentence verdict of a police officer, Rapi Rahmat Hidayat, and Rizal was chaired by Judge Alfonsus Nahak, and judges from members Renaldo Tobing and Abdul Wahab. This decision is in accordance with the demands of the Dumai District Attorney's office, Priandi Firdaus and Roslina.
Meanwhile, two other defendants acting as drivers were given different sentences, namely life imprisonment for Hendra and 20 years in prison for defendant Riman. Previously, Riman was sued for life, public prosecutor Priandi Firdaus.
The prosecutor expressed his thoughts while waiting for a copy of the verdict against the defendant from the Dumai District Court to be handed over to the head of the Dumai District Prosecutor's Office.
"Copies of the decisions against the four defendants will later be submitted to the leadership to determine their future position in taking legal action against the judges' decision," said Firdaus, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, September 30.
The public prosecutor hopes that the verdict can be an example to society and can have a deterrent effect on other actors who are reckless to distribute illegal goods that destroy the younger generation.
"This punishment should be a lesson for the community not to break the law and play with drugs, so that Dumai will be free from drug trafficking," he said.
