The Directorate General Of Taxes Prepares An E-stamp Payment System As Easy As Buying Credit

JAKARTA - The Directorate General of Taxes (DGT) of the Ministry of Finance is preparing a digital-based stamp system or e-seal which will be ready for use in 2021. Digitalization in the taxation sector is expected to facilitate payment of stamps as easily as paying pulses.

DGT's Director of Information and Communication Technology, Iwan Djuniardi, said that in this e-seal a special system would be created containing code. He said that later the code would be able to read the amount of stamp payment that must be made by the user or the mandatory stamp duty.

"About e-stamp duty, you can think of it like buying credit. So the concept is that there is a code generator that will be made by one system. This code generator will be channeled through channeling. This code generator will be filled with a kind of wallet where it will contain the total value of the stamp. which has already been paid, "he said, in a virtual press conference, Wednesday, September 30.

According to Iwan, DGT has prepared 4 channels to be used in this e-stamp payment. First, a channel that can connect all electronic documents automatically based on criteria so that it will be easier to find payments with a special code given.

"Second, with the same wallet it can also be physical documents, but it can be taped by a machine that is connected to the wallet. So that later the document is entered into and then it is directly electronically scaled," he said.

Third, upload or download system. Through this system, the electronic seal will be attached directly when printed, using a special website that is being compiled by the DGT.

Fourth, direct printing of stamps based on merchants' wallets with certain printers and paper machines. Currently, it is still under development and would be very economical if it could be implemented.

"Lastly, maybe those who want to load money and so on, we will collaborate with POS, which is the point of sales, where it will be connected to an electronic system and any receipts or those generated meet that criteria will be automatically stamped. So in outline like that , "he explained.

Iwan said that the implementation problem depends on the readiness of the system. However, he hopes, it can be done in stages and will be ready in 2021.

"But God willing, January 1, 2021, this e-stamp system will be ready on the market. Only later which form we are exploring," he said.
