There Are Allegations Of Irregularities In The Distribution Of 2,000 Tons Of Cooking Oil, The Riau Provincial Government Intervenes
PEKANBARU - The Riau Provincial Government for the next two days will investigate the alleged irregularity in the distribution of bulk cooking oil from the Ministry of Trade, which is allocated to Riau as much as 2,000 tons.
"The Ministry of Trade has provided a quota of 2,000 tons of bulk cooking oil per week for Riau. For distribution, the Ministry of Trade has also appointed two companies, namely PT PPI and PT RMI, but in the field the distribution does not match the distribution," said Regional Secretary (Sekda) Riau Province, SF Hariyanto told reporters in Pekanbaru, reported by Antara, Monday, April 4.
He said that the alleged irregularity was related to reports that the distribution of bulk cooking oil was not in accordance with the agreement, less than 2,000 tons were distributed per week.
For the discrepancy in the distribution, he said, it was immediately investigated what the cause was and why the distributor did not distribute it according to the provisions, while the public now needed cooking oil.
"On Wednesday, April 6 and Thursday, April 7, the food task force team appointed by the Riau Provincial Government will begin to go down to wholesale markets in Riau. The goal is to check the availability of 11 basic commodities for the community," he said. So it's not just cooking oil, he said, these eleven basic ingredients such as rice, cooking oil, chicken, meat, eggs, sugar will be checked for availability. If there is a shortage, we will find out what caused it," he said.
Especially for cooking oil and bulk cooking oil, said the Regional Secretary again, the results of the inspections will be reported directly to the Ministry of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia.
"The data from the inspection will be reported to the center, meaning that the center will be the one to solve the cooking oil problem. It is the Ministry of Trade's authority to determine the HET and appoint the distribution of bulk cooking oil," he said.
