The Witness From Inspector General Napoleon Bonaparte Failed To Attend The Pretrial Hearing Because His Superior Did Not Allow Him
JAKARTA - Inspector General Napoleon Bonaparte failed to present a witness in a further trial of the pretrial lawsuit against the suspect's determination in the case of alleged red notice removal of bribery. This is because the three witnesses who are members of the National Police did not get permission from their superiors to attend this trial.
"We have tried three witnesses from members of the national police. We have submitted a letter but cannot attend because our superiors did not allow it," Napoleon told a judge during a trial at the South Jakarta District Court, Wednesday, September 30.
In a follow-up hearing scheduled for witness examination, the reporting party plans to present 3 fact witnesses. These 3 witnesses were aware of the alleged bribery incident.
"We ask for this good opportunity, for the sake of openness and transparency, and justice in this process. We ask how we can help from the defendant to be able to present the witness we mean," said Napoleon.
If the National Police still does not give permission to the three witnesses he has appointed to attend the trial, he asks that witnesses can testify online.
"We ask that, if there is another way at least to have an online trial tomorrow, that's our hope for openness and justice," he said.
Meanwhile, the presiding judge Suharno said that he invited the petitioner to coordinate with the Police regarding presenting witnesses online. However, with a note must meet the requirements.
"As we have said in the initial trial, there are places that can be done (for online trials) as long as we meet the existing requirements," he continued.
The trial of Inspector General Napoleon's pretrial lawsuit will be continued on Thursday, October 1, at around 10:00 WIB with the agenda of examining fact witnesses from the petitioners and expert witnesses from the respondent.
