Joe Chan's Business Card Begins Attorney Pinangki's Introduction To Joko Tjandra

JAKARTA - Attorney Pinangki Sirna Malasari admitted that he knew Joko Tjandra by the name of Joe Chan. The introduction between the two was through Rahmat and took place in Malaysia.

This was revealed based on the objection or exception note read out by his lawyer, Aldres Napitupulu, at the trial at the Corruption Crime Court (Tipikor) at the Central Jakarta District Court, Wednesday, September 30.

The meeting between Pinangki and Joko Tjandra took place on November 12, 2019. At that time, Rahmat introduced Joko Tjandra as a conglomerate.

"Rahmat and met a man who introduced himself by giving a name card with Joe Chan's name on it," said Alders.

The first meeting lasted for approximately two hours. Joko Tjandra invited Pinangki and Rahmat to tour his building. During the meeting he did not discuss the matter of the Supreme Court (MA) fatwa arrangement.

"The defendant and Rahmat were invited to tour the building and discuss the construction of the Joe Chan building complex," he said.

After that meeting, Pinangki returned to Singapore to meet his father. Because, at that time his father was undergoing medical treatment. Until finally Pinangki returned to Jakarta.

"After that the defendant returned to Jakarta after finishing his parents' treatment on November 15, 2019," he said.

Previously, the Head of the Attorney General's Office of Legal Information, Hari Setiyono, said that Rahmat was the person who brought Pinangki to meet Djoko Tjandra in Kuala Lumpur in September 2019.

"Rahmat, which we know from the initial process, and maybe friends already know that is what introduced PSM to Djoko Tjandra," said Hari.

During the meeting, it was said that he discussed Djoko Tjandra's fatwa at the Supreme Court. The figure of Rahmat began to be associated with this case after his photo circulated on social media, showing him with, Attorney Pinangki, Anita Kolopaking and Djoko Tjandra abroad.
