Two OPM Members In Kaimana District, West Papua Surrender
JAKARTA - Two members of the West Papua National Liberation Army-Free Papua Organization (TPNPB - OPM) surrendered to TNI AD officers at the Koramil Headquarters 1804-07/Kambrauw, Kaimana Regency, West Papua, Saturday.
Head of Information for Kodam (Kapendam) VXIII/Kasuari Colonel Arm. Hendra Pesireron said the two TPNPB-OPM members were Natalis Watora (25) and Engel Feneteruma (31).
"Both of them surrendered voluntarily at the Koramil Headquarters 1804-07/Kambrauw, Sunua Village, Kambrauw District, Kaimana Regency," said Kapendam.
Kapendam said that the surrender process coincided with the delivery of goods, such as 2 arrowheads, 2 bullets of a 3mm caliber air rifle, and other evidence.
He explained that the surrender began when the two perpetrators fled from Jonair Waga's group together with their sympathizers who were about to take action at the TPU fork in the entrance, approximately 200 meters west of Infantry Battalion 764/IB.
"They fled from the group because they were afraid of carrying out the action and felt abandoned, so both of them intended to return on foot following the outskirts of the forest along the road to Tanggaromi Village," said Kapendam.
On that occasion, the two members of the TPNPB-OPM made a statement to return to be loyal to the Republic of Indonesia and obey the laws in force in Indonesia.
Meanwhile, Natalis invited other residents of Kampung Rauna not to be influenced by the invitation of irresponsible people, especially residents outside Kaimana to commit anarchy and crime.
"I promise not to repeat what we have done and always be loyal to the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia and support all forms of government policies of the Republic of Indonesia," he said.
